Movers & Shakers
We see you: Marcie Pantzer
This avid letter writer and luxury stationery designer is championing the craft of correspondence.
The people—young, old, and everyone in between—who most intrigue us.
Why we’re watching her: The Upper East Side doyenne and mom to four is the founder of Dear Annabelle, the go-to source for bespoke stationery. Her romantic mission: bringing back the art of letter writing.
Pedigree: Pantzer’s grandfather, Stanley K. Tanger, was the founder of the Tanger Outlets, and she is strictly luxe when it comes to fashion. “I’m the kind of person who likes to get dressed up—you’ll usually find me in a dress or a blouse and a great pant,” she told Larroudé’s blog. “The only time I’m not in heels is at the gym.”
Catch her in the wild: Look for Pantzer in bright (if tiny) plumage by the pool of her favorite hotel, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes. “I’ve been collecting fun Pucci-print bikinis for ages,” she told Virtuoso Travel Advisers.
(Very) social media: Dear Annabelle’s case for luxe love notes? “Written letters, notes, and cards can be preserved and handed down, whereas emails and texts disappear into the ether.” (Let’s be honest, there are pros and cons to the disappearing act.)
On the down low: Pantzer is famous for her entertaining savoir faire. Her best advice: Invest in candles and dimmer lights. “There is nothing worse (or more unflattering) than eating dinner in a too-bright room!” she told Goldie Home. We couldn’t agree more.
Way to her heart: “Nothing beats the Curry Langoustine at Cipriani, in my humble opinion!” she shared with Larroudé.com.
Party spirit animal: The (social) butterfly, known for its sense of joy, romance, and celebration.
Prediction: “I would love to see myself standing in a Dear Annabelle boutique on Madison Avenue or in Soho, showing all of our fabulous products off to stylish customers,” Pantzer told Larroudé.com. With social media beginning to implode, her chances are getting better by the day.
